The Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, made a statement. It may steer the approval process for a bill legalizing gaming in Brazil. Jim Allen the global CEO of Hard Rock hotel chain, according to Sabino, is tracking the bill's progress closely. It might allow casinos and bingos in Brazil.

The Senate's Constitution and Justice Committee (CCJ) may vote on the proposal this Wednesday (12). The minister revealed that a decision on the location of the project is pending its approval.

Senator Irajah (PSD-TO) submitted a report in support of the casino despite opposition from evangelical lawmakers. The project has been approved in the House of Representatives and is awaiting a vote in the Senate.

Sabino and vice-president Geraldo Alckmin are together in supporting the measure. Alckmin also serves as the minister of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services.

The Hard Rock chain owns many casino units in the United States. It is facing difficulties partnering up to establish itself in Brazil.

A massive multi-hotel development collapsed due to construction delays and scrutiny by federal authorities. The project's local partner, Venture Capital Participações e Investimentos (VCI), faced close examination during this time.

At the moment, just three facilities are being built: Fortaleza in Ceará, Gramado in Rio Grande do Sul, and Sertanópolis in Paraná. Celso Sabino says that if the government allows casinos, Jim Allen would be ready to construct additional sites in Brazil run by the company's main office.

“The project of resorts integrated with casinos, without a doubt, will provide even greater interest among large chains.”

Legalizing casinos and gambling activities could offer various financial advantages for the nation. Establishing these venues can create direct employment opportunities in the construction industry, boosting local economies where they are set up, and also promote national tourism.

Additionally, another beneficial factor is the rise in government earnings, as taxes would already be collected on the revenue generated by these businesses. Subsequently, this income could be reinvested into domains like education, healthcare, and infrastructure development.

The legalization of gaming could provide a much-needed economic boost for Brazil. It would create new business opportunities within the country, while also drawing in foreign capital and resources. This could help to strengthen Brazil's overall financial position and drive growth across various sectors.
